SFERA started philosophizing! On the 6th of Feburary, with a group of 12 participants, we have been discussing two very big questions within philosophy.
The first question was ‘What does it mean to behave morally?’, and the second question ‘what is the most important goal in human life?’.
To understand these questions better, and to get a view on these, we have been discussing thought experiments. In the first thought experiment, we imagined to be a doctor who had 5 patients that were dying because one organ failed. A healthy person walks in the hospital, and we discussed whether it is moral to kill that person. Most of us would say know, and we asked us what that means for our conception of morality.
The second big question we discussed with a likewise thought experiment. We had a lot of interesting discussions, and I want to thank all the participants for their interesting contributions. Hope to see you next time!
